A good pre’season storm

Rakaia river valley, NZ

A strong weather system is forcing moisture laden air over the Southern Alps with snow falling to just below 1000 meters. This type of NW storm produces a very good snow base for our heliskiing operations and helps to fill in the crevasses on our glaciers. With only one month to go the weather patterns are looking promising for a good start to the season when we open on July 1st. Early season the lighting is fantastic with grey clouds over the alps and sunshine further east!
