Burton and big storm blow into Methven

Our favourite film crew have returned right on cue for some of the biggest weather in the South Island this season.

Some of the snowboarding world’s biggest names will be working with Methven Heli  to film in the stunning backcountry terrain of the Arrowsmiths and Ragged Ranges during the month of August.

Terje Haakonsen, Nicolas Muller, and Freddi Kalbermatten (images above courtesy Dean Blotto Grey and Burton Snowboards)are among the crew of riders and photographers who are returning to Methevn again this year for the great snow and unique opportunity to test and shoot next season’s gear during the Northern hemisphere summer.

You can check out last years Burton action in the Arrowsmiths on thier feature video “Thanks in Advance” and the cover shot from this year’s Burton catalogue was shot with us in the Ragged Ranges last year.

Tomorrow we’re expecting a break in the weather just long enough to let us get out and see what the recent system has delivered to us.  If we’re lucky we’re hoping to have recieved around 50cm of new snow.

Following Saturday the weather currently looks to be closing in again so we’re predicting our next day out to be on Tuesday.

We’ll keep you posted!
