While Ed appears to be here to ski; Anthony Spencer appears to be here just for the chocolate cake!

Spring arrived early proviidng some great corn snow conditions. Everyone talks about powder but spring snow is definitely under rated! We have amazing spring conditions which will allow us to start skiing some steep chutes and couloirs that we can’t ski when we have powder. Thats not to say the powder season is over in fact another cold front is on it’s way but for the next few days it’s going to be great spring skiing!

K2 , Armada , Atomic, Nordica and Fischer all had representatives out with Methven Heli today.
The group dropped a total vertical of 5000 meters in five runs and had a great time.
With only one rider in the gruop, the rest of the boys had some of the biggest ski’s money could buy and made some very big turns that would made your average snowboarders tracks look small!

Some of our favourite regular clients and a few lucky Mt Hutt Patrollers had the chance to experience thigh-deep powder in the Arrowsmiths today.
With low wind, perfect blue skies and over 1.5 meters of fesh snow in the past week; conditions were once again perfect for heliskiing today.
Were expecting to get out and enjoy the conditions again tomorrow with a fresh top up of snow overnight. This week promises to be one of the best of the season so far!

Sunday’s sunshine brought the perfect conditions for our first mountain wedding party!
Tony Richards and Jackie Gillman were wed atop Sunset Bowl in the Ragged Range by Celebrant Hunter Darry in the presence of Barry and Ali McLauchlan and their children.
Once the nuptuals were over the wedding party and their guests got amongst the power and the sunshine with 5 ski runs throughout the Ragged Range.
Tony who organised the day with Kevin Boekholt from Methven Heliski commented that Sunday was a “dream come true” for he and his new wife Jackie.
Everyone at Methven Heliski wishes Tony and Jackie all the best for their future and hope to see them back celebrating their anniversaries with us every year!
