Supreme Winner

On Friday night Methven Heliski was awarded both the “visitor activity” and “Supreme Award” for the best tourist operation in the Ashburton District. There was a record number of applicants this year and we are very proud to have won this event. The snow is accumulating on the mountain’s and bookings are steady. If you have not booked accommodation as yet please get in touch with us as some properties are reporting very strong bookings to date.

I have attached a picture of a polar bear we saw while heliskiing in Greenland last month( http://www.greenlandheli.com ). No it was not the Supreme winner! It’s just more interesting than a picture of me receiving a trophy. You can see the trophy when you check in with us in Methven this winter!!

Great early season cover

Having the window seat while flying back form Sydney gave me the perfect chance to check out coverage of the heli patch! Quite amazing for this time of year and with a very cold June forecast it looks like we will have a very good early season opening with July possibly being one of the best months for relaiable powder skiing. This year the accommodation at the farm has gone through further additions and is becoming a very popular venue. Methven is also humming with Mt Hutt already open and the NZ$ is dropping so everything is in place for a great season!
